Security
Security is a priority at MW Markets. We are committed to protecting the security and confidentiality of customer information. We use a combination of technology and methods to help to protect the security of your online session.
1 - Protect yourself from fraudulent websites
Personal information shared over the Internet can be used to commit fraud. One common method is for thieves to create a website using a name that is similar to that of a reputable business, for instance by using a common misspelling of the company's name. The intent is to lure you into clicking onto the copycat website and giving your personal information, including your account number and password. We caution you to make sure of whom you are dealing with over the Internet and to understand what will be done with your information. Always check that you have typed the correct website address before entering personal information onto a site.
2 - Protect your password and email
(a) Keep your Login and passwords in a safe place and do not share it with third parties;
(b) make sure no one is watching you while you are logging on to your account or email;
(c) do not allow any computers to memorize your password if asked;
(d) avoid using a computer in a public place.
3 - Use a Firewall, Anti-Virus software and Anti-Spyware software
(a) Update your computer's anti-virus software frequently. Your computer must be kept up to date so that it recognizes new viruses;
(b) use a firewall on your personal computers to prevent any unauthorized access. This will prevent unwanted parties from gaining access to your personal information;
(c) anti-spyware software eliminates the ability of spyware to display advertisements and to gather personal information. Similar to your anti-virus software, this should be updated frequently.
4. Clearing your Internet browser's cache and history
To ensure your privacy, we recommend that you clear the Internet browser’s cache and history after visiting any MW Markets website. Internet browsing software, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape, stores or "caches" content of websites visited during online sessions to display pages previously viewed more quickly. Additionally, the Internet browser's history list tracks website addresses you visit. Clearing your browser’s cache and history ensures that other people using the computer (particularly public computers) do not have access to your session information.
MW Markets does not guarantee the products or services offered on third party sites. You should review the privacy statement of a website before you provide personal or confidential information. No representation is made, however, regarding the unconditional security of such submissions.
